This PC blazes with literally everything else I do with it. I have been getting more serious with my editing so I figured it would be a good investment. Boy, was I wrong. VP17 worked okay, but would crash occasionally, but overall I liked the new features that I didn’t have in Movie Studio though there’s not as many as you’d think. What’s wrong with it you ask? You literally cannot work for more than 2 minutes without a total lockup or crash. I first attempted to contact Magix support.
I would spend 20 minutes writing a support ticket, hit submit, then get a error. I did this every day for about a week before I was fuming with frustration, then I finally went to the Vegas forums. I tried every single troubleshooting step the forum members suggested to no avail.
I was so frustrated at this point and about 3 months had gone by. I decided to check with Vegas support again. This time the ticket went though, so I waited about a week when they finally responded. The response I received was “We cannot find your account by your name or email”. This is utter nonsense. I have been a customer for years, have an account, paid though Magix’s own website, sent them my full name, number and email and they “cannot find my account”?

However after getting tired of software crashes during editing and rendering, I decided to give Sony Vegas Pro a try.
Since then I haven’t looked back. I realized a lot has changed over the years. But I have never had a single problem – never a single software crash with Vegas that made me consider going back to Premiere Pro.
The interface is essentially the same – which I love. The performance is improved. Rendering times have sped up and rendering output options are plentiful. I bought my copy of the software here on Cyber Monday My copy was legit and the serial number activated.
There is a reason that Vegas is always coming out with new versions that seem back to back. One big one is glitches and crashes.
I have had this program crash serval time since it was delivered and installed. The one good thing is that is auto saves your work so that you don’t lose it. But thankfully it is easy to use and if you can get render to work properly the quality is good. Once you pass the learning curve with a few tutorials the rest is a cake walk to use. Good for beginners and professionals. This program has so many new features that makes editing more complete.
Totally professional and its really well built. Features like slow motion, planar motion tracking and smart split edit add so much quality to your videos. What I like most is that every tool is focused in resolution and every change, cut or edit will preserve the high-quality resolution of the video and the audio. Color and video distortion corrections and so many other tools make Vegas Pro the perfect choice for video production and makes it easier to work with big projects.
This program is extremely professional! Saying that There is a range of youtube videos to get you more acquainted with the program. After using amateur editing programs, this programming; although a little overwhelming, preforms high-quality edits.
I look forward to trying more with it. Love it. I had Magix Movie studio platinum 12 and it only crashed every so often. But Vegas Pro 17 crashes all the time. The user interface is far more complex and less intuitive.
Basically, I threw away my money when I bought this. And tech support? What tech support! Maybe a few weeks later someone will respond with absolutely useless information. I think they just copy from a list of ways to respond with no actual knowledge of the system. Update: After using it a few more months, it now crashes about every other time using it. And every time it starts, it asks me if I want to upgrade. No matter how many times I say don’t ask me again, it does. At least that’s consistent with the poor coding and QA of the rest of the product.
