This is a big unforeseen advantage of not buying direct from Adobe. Sorry I can’t be of more practical help. Usually crashes at launch are due to bugs in third party plugins or driver video, printer, etc. Sometimes just resetting preferences will solve the problem because the crash is caused by a corrupt preferences file. It would help if you told us what OS version you were using. Did you install all the Elements 13 updates? And tell us what the detailed crash report says on MacOS it’s really long and detailed, on Windows it’s short but has the name of the faulting module.
